How I Retrieved My Wife's Necklace Without Taking Apart Our Wardrobes

If you've ever dropped something valuable behind a fitted wardrobe, you'll know the sinking feeling. That's exactly what happened when my wife accidentally dropped her favourite necklace into the tiny gap behind our bedroom wardrobes.

At first, it looked like the only option was several hours of work.

The wardrobes would have needed emptying, pulling away from the wall, and partially dismantling just to reach a space only a few centimetres wide. Not exactly how I wanted to spend my evening.

Looking for an Easier Solution

Instead of reaching for the toolbox, I grabbed my USB endoscope.

The camera is only a few millimetres wide and connects directly to my phone. Within seconds I could see exactly where the necklace had landed behind the wardrobe.

Even better, I attached the supplied retrieval hook to the end of the camera.

Watching the live image on my phone, I carefully guided the hook towards the necklace, caught the chain and slowly pulled it back through the gap.

Job done.

No dismantling.

No scratched furniture.

No lost evening.

Why an Endoscope Works So Well

Most dropped items aren't actually difficult to retrieve—they're difficult to see.

The HD camera and built-in LED lights let you inspect narrow gaps behind wardrobes, cupboards, sofas and kitchen appliances without moving heavy furniture.

Once you've found the object, the hook attachment makes retrieval surprisingly straightforward.

Other Things You Can Recover

I've since used the same camera to retrieve:

- Keys behind kitchen units
- Children's toys under furniture
- Screws dropped into awkward spaces
- Jewellery behind cabinets

Save Time and Avoid Unnecessary Hard Work

If you're searching for how to retrieve a necklace behind a wardrobe or wondering how to recover jewellery from behind furniture, a USB endoscope can save hours of frustration.

Sometimes the smartest repair is simply being able to see what you're doing.
