I'll admit, this was one of those products I bought expecting to use once and then throw in a drawer.

I was wrong.

The first time it genuinely proved its worth was when my wife dropped a necklace behind our fitted wardrobes. Normally that would have meant pulling the wardrobes away from the wall, which would have taken ages. Instead, I fed the camera down the gap, found the necklace within a minute and used the hook attachment to pull it back out.

Since then, I've used it to look inside drains, behind kitchen units and even underneath my car to investigate a strange rattle before booking it into a garage.

The image quality is much better than I expected, the built-in LEDs make a huge difference in dark spaces and the semi-rigid cable is stiff enough to steer where you want it without constantly flopping over.

It's definitely one of those gadgets that doesn't get used every day—but when you do need it, you'll be glad you have it.

Would I buy it again? Absolutely. It's earned a permanent place in my toolbox.
